I am the mother of an adult addict (25). Presently , he is in jail and waiting for drug court, state mandated rehab, and then 5 year probation. My concern, among many others, is his debt of over $50,000. Should he declare bankruptcy, or should I help him pay off debts when he is out and not declare bankruptcy. I want him to succeed in society with a real job and feel good about himself! I am worried that he may fall back to selling drugs again as the only way he knows how to make money. And then to use again in the unending cycle! Please advise.
